Golden Leaf over Gold Plaster

Here is a Golden Treat to feast your eyes on!  This was done in a beautiful home in Las Vegas.  She loved the walls so much, she had me do the niches, as well as the sconces to match.  It turned out to be a gorgeous effect!!  I hope you all like it.

One World One Heart

I am so excited to be participating in One World One Heart this year. I'm rather new to Blog Land and as such, welcome the opportunity to meet fellow bloggers and make new connections. After all, isn't that what this international party is all about?

A little about me: I am a Wife, Mother and Grandmother (tell me she isn't the cutest kid you've ever seen? No bias here) who enjoys decorative and dimensional painting, sewing and interior design. I veer towards the French esthetic and am not afraid to play with new techniques and bold color. Here you will find my adventures in design - I hope you'll join me for the ride . . .

Now, about the goodies: I'm offering a selection of 5 designer fabrics, each of which are approximately one yard. These five yards of fabric will be given to one winner who will be selected by random at the conclusion of the event.

One winner will receive all 5 designer fabrics
Detail of black & cream Toile fabric
Detail of golden Paisley fabric
Detail of Raw Silk fabric

To participate, all you need to do is leave a comment on this post by midnight PST on February the 17th (my Daughter's birthday). The winner will be announced here the next day.

I do look forward to meeting you and learning more about blogging in the process. I know it will be an adventure. Thank you for joining me . . .

Australian Wysteria

This is a stenciled wall in my own home. The base paint color is called 'Parisian Nights'; the Wysteria is done in light tones of green & black.  The wysteria does wrap the wall into the kitchen.  The mirrored screen is behind 'Lucy' my fabulous column.  I named her 'Lucy'   'cause I had to 'splain to my husband, after the fact, we had a new member of the household, Lol!!!

17th Century Kano Screen

I hope you enjoy this painting, it is one of my very favorites, especially since it was my very first in this medium; Venetian plaster with gold leaf background. The Crane is done in chalk and acrylics and was exhibited during an art show last fall!

Welcome!

Welcome to my very first post on my new blog.
My wonderful daughter who has had her own blog for over a year now, encouraged me to get started. She put my blog together (she is so talented).
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking a look, making a comment as well as the hope for a mutual friendship.
This is an example of what I did in my own home.
